REVIEW
I purchased this curriculum because I enjoyed the original Five in a Row so much that I wanted to use this with my 3, almost 4 year old. However, I discovered that the lessons are more general in nature and that he already knew a great deal of topics covered (i.e. colors, how to listen to a story, rhyme). Also, I didn't find as many unique ideas in this book as I did in the original books. So instead of following the plans like I did with the original Five in a Row and reading the stories 5 times in a row, I used the book more as a resource for good books to read to my son. Occasionally I found some fun activities in the lessons regarding science or art that I chose to use. My recommendation is if you are going to use this book, use it earlier rather than later with your children (closer to 2 years old than 4). The stories are great. The activities are fine but fairly broad and I didn't find them to be anything I didn't already do with my son as we read along in the story. I believe in taking a low key approach to teaching with young children, not pressing academics too early. I am not sure you need a book to help do these types of activities -- the type of activities this book suggests.
