Before I Was Born
God's Design For Sex Series, book 2
by Carolyn Nystrom

From the back cover: "'God means for Christian parents to be the primary sex educators of their children,' write Stan and Brenna Jones. Yet children in today's society are bombarded with destructive messages about sex, and sexuality virtually from birth. That's why the best way to educate your child about GOD'S design for sex is to get an early start."

I do agree with the authors that it is so important for parents to be the ones who educate their children in the area of sex, however, the actual age when certain information is appropriate will vary from family to family and even child to child within a family. This book is recommended for ages 5-8. We did not share it with our oldest until she was 10 years old. We think this book works well when preceeded by "The Story of Me" - book 1 in the God's Design for Sex Series. This book "explains sex as a special gift God gives to a husband and wife and covers such topics as: why God made boys' and girls' bodies different, God's plan for loving marriages and families, the basic facts about intercourse, presented in the context of marital love and intimacy, conception and fetal development, childbirth and breastfeeding."
