-Tomie dePaula
On one hand, this book is all about fun: A Crocodile named Bill and his toothbrush (i.e. a bird) named Pete, but on the other hand, my kids learned alot about Egypt! They begged for me to read this little picture book over and over and my preschooler shocked and amazed people by using and explaining the word "sarcophagus." (I had to check how to spell it just now!) This book is good anytime you just want a little fun Tomie DePaola style - and a great addition to your ancient history or ancient Egypt curriculum to keep the little (or not so little!) ones engaged in a multi-level teaching situation like those that make up most homeschools.
