Bob Books by Bobby Lynn Maslen are great books for beginning readers. They come in 3 different levels - A (sets 1 & 2), B(sets 1 & 2), and C (set 1). The Bob Book series supports phonics learning. Each book adds now sounds (clearly outlined at the beginning of each book)building on previous learning. I discovered them recently and had my 4 year old twins read them. They were so proud of themselves because they could READ the book! My children enjoy the humor of the stories so they read the books over and over. The illustrations are simple and in black and white. I would suggest this series to anyone who is teaching young children how to read. The investment is worth the smiles of success on a child's face.
