Every year the Beene family gets the same old watery soup on Christmas Eve. While Mama is making the traditional Christmas soup her children Jack and Baby Fannie wish for more. Baby Fannie prays “Bless our home with something more”— and that “more” turns out to be two hungry strangers to feed. The soup—a true feast for the hungry pair—is shared, and the Beene children learn the true meaning of Christmas, thankfulness, and giving.

REVIEW
This is a simple yet poignant story. The storyline is clear and yet not too burdensome in regards to the topic as to exclude early elementary children. It's lesson is one even a young child can relate to -- not liking the dinner the Lord provided and gaining perspective as to how blessed we truly are. I would recommend this story for kindergarten and up as a gentle reminder to remember our to be thankful and be aware of your blessings.
