How do I teach my preschool- aged child?

What does my child need to know in preschool?

Do I need special curriculum or supplies to teach at home?

Am I qualified to teach my child?

You do not need special curriculum or supplies to teach at home. Most of the time the supplies you use are (or can be) common household supplies. I have used (and am still using) a curriculum I bought at Wal-mart called Preschool-K Everything for early learning published by McGraw-Hill Children's Publishing for less than five dollars. It has all the concepts that preschoolers need to learn. I have adapted the book for my own children's needs and added materials as I have needed to but it has been a great jumpstart for me as I begin the homeschooling journey. I use a lot of manipulatives when I teach to give the children a concrete understanding of what they are learning. I have used blocks, buttons, candy, stickers, dried beans, etc. I have spent very little money buying supplies for my children aside from markers, paints, paper, glue, scissors, crayons, pencils, tape, etc.
