Exploring Creation with Astronomy This is an excellent book to learn about Astronomy along with your children - of all ages! What more could you ask for? How about a God-honoring, Biblical world view throughout the entire book, several great activities, and a web site to refer to for current information on the internet. Designed to be used for an indepth year long study of Astronomy, the book begins with "What is Astronomy?", then progresses from the sun outward on through our solar system stopping for a lesson on each planet in order. Special emphasis is given to Earth and how our Creator made it perfectly suited to our needs. Also included are chapters on Stars and Galaxies and Space Travel. This was a fun project for our whole family last year. We spent evenings star gazing and trying to identify constellations and visited our local planetarium as a family as well. Our children were Preschool, First Grade and Third Grade and it made the information accessible to all of them in a memorable way. The book is designed to be read in conjunction with narration and notebooking - a process in which your child puts all there work together in a 3 ring notebook or binder. This notebook then becomes a record of their course work and a treasured keepsake as well. Our children love making notebooks! This book is part of the Young Explorer Series from Apologia Educational Ministries, Inc. and includes in each of the fourteen lessons a narration to be completed by the student, some notebook work, an activity, and a project. An excellent book! Of further interest may be Jeannie Fulbright's website:
