Another beautiful book by Lois Ehlert using her style of vivid colors created with various mediums. Bright contrasting colors of various animals and plants can be seen throughout the book. Children will enjoy the simple yet lively prose. Also included in the last four pages is information about a squirrel's body, home, and food so that this book can also be used in integrated language arts/science units.

Younger children will especially enjoy this book but older children who enjoy beautiful, interesting illustrations or who are especially interested in wildlife will like it as well.
