Reforming Marriage
by Douglas Wilson

I could not put this book down! It is an unapologetic call to husbands and wives to fulfill their God given roles and in doing so provide a true picture of Christ and His love for His bride, the church, for the world to see. It describes in detail and in very practical terms just what these responsibilities are and the importance of both husbands and wives seeking to meet them. As explained by the author, Scripture tells us that the marriage relationship speaks to the world of Christ's relationship to His bride, and when that marriage relationship is not functioning as God has laid out in His word, then that relationship is speaking a lie to the world. I surely do not want our marriage to speak a lie about our Lord, and felt that this book gave us the information and counsel needed to have a marriage that could speak the truth to the watching world. "Reforming Marriage" is well written, very meaty material, yet easy to follow. Wilson does a great job of touching on some very difficult topics in a matter of fact and sometimes humorous way. Not for the faint of heart perhaps, but I highly recommend it!!

Taken from the back cover...
"How would you describe the spiritual aroma of your home? The source of this aroma is the relationship between husband and wife. Many can fake an attempt at keeping God's standards in some external way. What we cannot fake is the resulting, distinctive aroma of pleasure to God. Most marriage books address the mere externals of marriage, without seeking to understand the heart issues. Godly marriages proceed from an obedient heart, and the greatest desire of an obedient heart is the glory of God, not the happiness of the household."
