Rocket Readers is a series of phonics based Bible stories from Cook Communications. This series covers the pre-level skills of rhyming and alphabetizing to higher levels of comprehension. The format is engaging and reinforces biblical character messages. Reading abilities: Pre=level to level 4. A note: Level 4 is not necessarily grade 4. The format for level 4 is considered 'chapters' however these books are short and probably closer to grade 2 reading level.

My early readers enjoyed these simple but sweet books. The pictures are colorful and the stories are all Bible based. There are 3-5 smaller, soft covered books in each packet. One warning: There are occasionally words found in the stories that beginning readers will not be familiar with or be able to decode (i.e. more advanced sight words). A common problem with many books marketed as "beginning reader" books. Despite this issue my kids enjoyed picking up these simple stories and reading them or just making up stories about the pictures. I liked the content of the books. I found it difficult to find my beginner readers Biblical stories that they could actually read. These books fit that need. We enjoy having them in our family library.
