From the back cover Notes for Parents:
"These Bible stories have been written in such a way that young children can succeed in their first attempts to read. To help achieve this success, first read the whole story aloud to your child and talk about the pictures. Then encourage your child to read the short, simple text at the top of each page, and read the longer text at the bottom of the page yourself. This 'turn about' reading builds up a child's confidence and the fun of joining in."

We really enjoy the above feature of this book and also the lovely drawings. They are pleasant and not so "cartoony" and their realism, I think, lends to the validity of the Bible story. A great book to read about the real Christmas story - together!
