Teaching With JoyChristmas ... The Littlest Angel | ||
|
by Charles Tazewell is an excellent book. The illustrations by Paul Micich are absolutely beautiful. A little 4 year old boy angel has a difficult time fitting in with all the other angels. His halo is always tilted, he sings out of tune, and he is always late to the meetings. The littlest angel is summoned to see the Understanding Angel. The Understanding Angel asks the cherub what would make him the happiest. The littlest angel asks for a box that was under his bed. When he receives that box his countenance changes and he is happy. Then Jesus, the Son of God, is to be born in Bethlehem. All the angels began to prepare a gift for the baby but the littlest angel is sad because he cannot sing or write or create like the other angels. When the day arrives to present his gift he is excited but then sees the gifts of all the other angels. Those gifts are glorious but his is worthless and plain. What gift will God choose for his son?
