How do I teach my preschool- aged child?

What does my child need to know in preschool?

Do I need special curriculum or supplies to teach at home?

Am I qualified to teach my child?

Preschool children need to learn before beginning kindergarten:
- how to count to 20
- recognize the numbers 0-10
- one-to-one correspondence (ex: understands that each person at a table needs a spoon to eat their ice cream)
- how to say the alphabet
- recognize upper and lower case letters
- shapes: circle, square, diamond, rectangle, and triangle
- colors: black, white, brown, red, pink, purple, green, yellow, blue, orange
- sizes: small, medium, large
- directions: up, down, over, under, around, beside, behind, ahead, etc.
- recognize and write their name
- can jump, run, walk, throw, and catch.
- can draw a face
- beginning to write letters/numbers/shapes
- beginning to color inside the lines

So does this mean my child should know this BEFORE going to preschool, or this is what is in the preschool curriculum?

My son will be 3 in May and I am thinking about teaching him from home so I am trying to make sure I am on tracka nd not pushing too hard. He can almost count to twenty, recognizes numbers and the alphabet, but will not say the alphabet, etc....but he can't write his own name or anything else for that matter. He still scribbles and then tells me what the "scribbles" are. Is this on track?
