The book, When You Rise Up by R.C. Sproul Jr., is a book that challenges all homeschoolers to train up our children in a godly manner. R.C. Sproul Jr. encourages experienced and new homeschoolers alike to have the Bible be the foundation of our teaching. He says that our first goal of homeschooling should be to raise godly children using the 3 G's: Who is God? What has God done? And what does God require?
R.C. Sproul Jr. also reminds us that God commands parents to train up their children - not a public or Christian school system. He also assures us that we are equipped for the task simply if they are our children and we know the Bible.
I found this book a great way to steer me back to the purpose I began to homeschool with in the first place: to raise my children in a godly manner. This book is a very easy read and an excellent reminder of the reason we homeschool in the first place.
